Gianni Nocenzi

(Marino, December 27, 1952)

Gianni Nocenzi, born Giovanni Nocenzi, together with his brother Vittorio, was the founder of Banco del Mutuo Soccorso.
There is no need for me to tell you about this legendary Italian progressive rock group that became very popular in the seventies and that gave us exceptional albums. I had the pleasure of listening to them live several times in those years, and I assure you that the sound of the piano as you hear it live has nothing to do with listening to it from an LP. Each instrument lives, managing to carve out its own space. Gianni Nocenzi, when he placed his fingers on the keyboard, gave magical moments. And the music he gives to those who listen to it can easily be classified as classical music.

He left the group in 1980, embarking on a solo career that led him to release the albums EMPUSA in 1988 and SOFT SONGS in 1993. 23 years of silence followed: in 2016, MINIATURE was released, and it was the first in which Nocenzi played exclusively the acoustic piano. Nocenzi left Banco to embark on a new path, researching the technological aspects of music, particularly in audio production and sound creation.
