Can the lives of our
ancestors help us to better understand who we are and where we are going?
Author Maria Teresa De
Donato believes so.
Through some detailed genealogical
research, her profound analysis of the personality traits and behaviors of
those who came before her, the author closely examines history and how the
latter shaped the life of her ancestors and ultimately, even more so, that of
her family.
From the time of the
barbarian invasions to date, after travelling through the Middle Ages and
focusing above all on the 18th and 19th centuries, she
accurately reports all major events that characterized Europe throughout
history, with special regards to the House of Swabia from which her paternal
ancestry originated, the most likely Greek roots from her maternal ancestry as
well as how WWI and WWII impacted her family, beginning with her mother and her
father.
